Presenter: Dr. Stephanie Trifoglio

Dr. Trifoglio was born in Staten Island, NY.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University and her M.D. degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico.  She completed her medical studies through the Fifth Pathway program at the University of Maryland.  She then did her three year Internal Medicine residency at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland. She served as Chief Resident from 1988 to 1989.  She started her private practice in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics in 1989 and continues full-time practice to the present time.

She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine which means that she is specially qualified to take care of the complex illnesses of adults, especially those older than age 65.  In 2004 she successfully re-certified in both of these specialties, and in 2013 she recertified again in Geriatrics.

In 2005, Dr. Trifoglio became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), an honor signifying academic excellence and community service.  She served as Chief of Geriatric Medicine at Prince George's Medical Center for several years.  She has been active on numerous hospital committees at Prince George's and Doctor's Community Hospitals including the Medical Ethics, Patient Care, Peer Review, and Emergency Room Renovation Committees.  She has been active in the community and served as the sideline physician for the Roosevelt High School rugby team.

On a regular basis she gives medical lectures to senior groups, women's gatherings, and school groups.

Dr. Trifoglio has been married for over thirty-five years and has two sons, both of whom just completed their master's degrees
